Piano Tuning

To stay at the correct pitch pianos need to be tuned. It is recommended this is done around twice a year for general use, or four times a year for heavy use.

Action/Piano Regulation

The action is all the moving parts behind closed doors that allows the piano to be played. In order to maximise playability and responsiveness the action along with other functioning parts should be checked and regulated accordingly.

Action Restoration

Felts and other parts are vulnerable to wear and tear so could need replacing to make sure the instrument functions as intended.

Voicing/Toning

The hammers play a vital role in how your piano sounds, or in other words, its tone. Sometimes your piano can end up sounding overly harsh/tinny/hard, or on the other end of the spectrum, muffled/quiet/soft. This could be rectified and honed towards a more desirable or specific tone by means of voicing your hammers.

Cabinet Restoration

Cosmetic defects may occur due to the instruments age or accidental damage.

Brasses can be polished and decorative felts can be replaced.

Pianos with a shiny polyester finish can easily get scratched and chipped. These issues can be resolved by means of poly repairs, which fill in chips, and a buffing/polishing service which can remove scratches.

Cabinets with traditional veneered finishes are prone to damage due to the instruments age and extended use. A number of restoration options are available which can give your piano a new lease of life and make it stand out for years to come!

Regarding varnish, we offer both a spray finish or a more traditional French polish finish. Please message with any questions.

Piano Restoration

Integral sections of the piano like the pinblock, bridges, strings or soundboard can fail, which can result in drastic consequences towards the instruments performance and functionality. For example it could; have difficulty staying in tune, make undesirable buzzing noises when played, have old lifeless sounding strings, lack power or volume. These issues could be amended by various means and will need to be inspected and diagnosed before any decisions on what work is necessary are made.

Silent System Installation

We provide an installation service of Adsilent Systems for both grand and upright pianos.

The Adsilent System is a fitted mechanic in the piano that allows the player to switch to headphones, physically muting the strings from sounding. For more information on this product visit www.adsilent.eu
